Check it

The Check It function on Read&Write for google is a tool that checks for spelling and grammar in a google document. This feature is the first function listed on the Read&Write toolbar. To use this feature click the Check It button and while while in a Google Doc. The Check It tool will underline in purple the grammatical errors it detects. When the user right clicks the underlined words they are then shown options that are a correct or more accurate fit for their sentence structure. This feature can also be disabled and hidden from the toolbar for its users.This function is available for use on Google Docs.

Students that could benefit from this tool:

This tool creates independence for students because they need to ask their teachers less often to help them solve a word. More specifically, students that have difficulty with retention would be able to spend less time focusing on exact spelling patterns and more time on getting their thoughts down. Students with dyslexia and dysgraphia could could use because they have difficulty with writing and spelling. This tool could allow them to focus on their tasks while alleviation stresses of spelling and grammar.

Use in the classroom:

This tool could be used in the classroom for students to proofread their work. Before a student is finished an assignment they have the ability to use the Check It button to check for errors. its users are also able to practice their spelling and then check to see if they are correct. Users could also be given a passage with multiple errors and that student could then correct it using the function.
