Table of Contents

The table of contents feature is available in ePub. The table of contents lists the chapters of the book. The bookmarks is where students can bookmark a page so they can refer back to it later. Students can click on a chapter or a bookmark to navigate through the book.

Students that would benefit:

Students who have difficulty getting organized could benefit from this. People with a visual impairment could benefit as they could have the table of contents read aloud and it would help them navigate through the book. Students who have used the highlight or annotate features who want to return to their notes easily can use the bookmark feature.

Use in a class:

Teachers could instruct a class to go to a specific chapter and students could do this efficiently by using the table of contents. It's generally useful as an organization tool to have the chapters listed so that students can easily access them. The teacher could have students bookmark information that they need to review and have access to for an assessment in the future.
