Web Search
The Web Search function on Read&Write for Google is a tool that allows it users to search the web based on a word they have highlighted. This feature is the eleventh function in the Read&Write toolbar. To use this tool users must highlight a written work and then click the Web Search button. when clicked the button takes its users to a search engine that has generated all web pages pertaining to the searched word. This function is available for use on Google Docs, PDFs and ePubs.

Students with fine motor difficulties could benefit from less typing in a search engine. Students with fine motor difficulties may also find it beneficial to not have to navigate away from their page themselves but rather have the page generated for them when they click the Web Search button. English as an Addition Language student could also benefit from using this feature when unsure of the meaning of a word.
Use in the Classroom:
Teachers can use this tool in the classroom with all students. Teachers can use this tool during research projects. Students could be given a topic and then given the opportunity to use the Web Search tool to find as much information about their topic as possible. Students could also be given access to technology in the classroom such as iPad or Chromebooks, that they could use during any subject to search for the meaning or a deeper understanding of a topic.
