Screen Shot Reader
Screen Shot Reader
GoogleDocs:
Screen Shot Reader allows for inaccessible text to run
through OCR (optical character recognition) for reading aloud on
demand (GoogleDoc). This feature is the eighth function listed on the Read&Write toolbar. Click the icon and drag the mouse, drawing a box around any
inaccessible text. A play button in the lower right-hand corner will allow for
replay without redrawing a box.
PDF and ePUB
Supporting learners:
The screenshot reader feature in the toolbar for Read and Write is
useful for: reading signs, titles or menus that are considered images by a computer (and are unreadable by the Play button)
Using it in the classroom:
The item (label, title, etc...) could be viewed on the LCD projector and read at the same time so
as to accommodate all learners.
