Simplify Page

The Simplify Page function on Read&Write for Google is a tool that helps by eliminating graphics from a web page. When on a website users begin by clicking the Simplify Page button. When clicked a second web tab will open with a simplified version of the web page containing the written words from the previous site. This function is available when viewing a website.

Students that could benefit from this tool:
This feature could be beneficial to students with ADHD and students having difficulty with focus. Simply Page allows for additional distractions to be eliminated so the users can focus on just the text needing to be read. Users with visual impairments can use this function to isolate just the text from a website and then enlarge the text from there. This function is also helpful for students with fine motor difficulties. Many times websites have ads that lead students away from the intended website. This function would provide students with only the information that they need to be looking at and stop them from accidentally clicking onto another site.

Use in the classroom:
Teachers can use the Simplify Page function when they have asked for students to read from a website. to eliminate students distractions have them click the Simplify Page icon to only shoe text.
